Big news and other news

We made an offer on the townhouse on Friday - the seller countered, we countered and she accepted that. So yay! Chris also told me over lunch that the other people with the bid ahead of us stepped down, so it’s ours!!!
Next is to get all the finance stuff figured out and then […]

And about the other big thing in our lives

Wedding planning has been moving along quite nicely. We booked the Videographer and DJ, both through BC Productions. The nice thing is that if you book both services through them, you get a $200 discount off the videography package. We were very happy with their work and felt comfortable talking to them. […]

House shopping part trois

We’re going out with our realtor again tonight. We’re going to look at a couple townhouses that are about $10,000 over what we’ve been looking at. We figured out that an extra $10,000 would be about another $100/month, so if we find a place that we really love in that price range, we’d […]

I just watched a couple news stories about pets on CNN. One was about a dog that survived 30 minutes in a gas chamber (the local shelter was putting dogs down), so after that, they decided to let him live. Another video was about a cute little Pomeranian surviving 3rd degree burns. […]

*Burp* Alphabet Soup

I was eating vegetable beef alphabet soup just now and I swear to god, a word that showed up before me on my spoon was “KLUX.” This was the first I’ve had a word show up on it’s own. I was afraid to take another bite in fear that the next word would be […]

Wake Up Naturally to a More Energized Day
Small Changes, Real BIG Energy
— By Mike Kramer, Staff Writer
7:00am: An infuriating alarm jolts you awake.
7:30am: After three snooze delays you finally turn it off and force yourself to jump out of bed.
8:15am: Two cups of coffee later, you’re stuck in maddening morning traffic.
2:30pm: You practically […]

Housing report part deux

We looked at this townhouse in Urbandale last night. We were both very happy with it! We were amazed that for the price (which the realtor told us we could talk down anyway) we would get DOUBLE the sqaure footage offered in new developments in the same price range. There wasn’t really […]

Apparently, my car does a rain dance

If we’re ever in a severe drought and I haven’t really noticed, just ask me to go get my car washed, then, I promise there will be 100% chance of rain within the next 2 days, it’s a fact….proven science.

Housing report

So - three hours for open houses definitely doesn’t allow you to pack very many in! But, we got to see the 3 we were most interested in so that’s good.
We started out at Brookview Point just west of Jordan Creek mall (omg, I can’t believe I used a compass direction to describe something). […]
